             Baytown firefighter Nito Guajardo died in the line of duty this afternoon while battling a house fire.  A fund has been set up to aid his family.  Beach City VFD would like to send our condolences to the family of Nito Guajardo and the Baytown Fire Department.  For more information on this story visit Baytown Fire Deparment or The Baytown Sun.

             Beach City VFD was called to FM 1409 in Liberty County to assist in a search for a missing father and son.  Personnel assisted with providing manpower and the use of our thermal imaging camera.  The father and son we found the next morning safe when they came out of the woods.  For more information visit: i-dineout.com

             Beach City VFD was at the Barbers Hill Fall Festival giving out candy, stickers, and fire prevention material.  Thank you to all of the people who bought our cookbook.  We had a lot of fun and hope to see you next year.  Thank you for the support.

             Firefighter Wayne Stark from Hull-Daisetta VFD is in ICU at Hermann Hospital, with many serious injuries including pelvic fracture, ruptured spleen, broken legs and ribs as a result from an accident.  A blood drive has been scheduled for Monday, Oct. 11, 2004 at the Hull Daisetta Fire Station in Daisetta, TX on FM 770 from 1pm to 7pm.  Please contact Maureen Smith for further information at 936-536-2475

             Beach City VFD participates in Live Fire Training with Mont Belvieu Fire Department and Cove VFD at the Deer Park Fire Field.  Thank you to the Deer Park VFD for their assistance in our training.  The member of DPVFD donated their time to make our services better.

           Beach City VFD has purchased new bunker gear with the help of funding from the City of Beach City and a  matching grant from the Texas Forest Service.  Thank You to the city and the forest service for their part in making our firefighters safer.  We should be taking delivery of the new gear in the next 60 days.

Beach City VFD begins using Emergencyreporting.com for run reports.  This is an online run reporting program.  This will enable us to comply with NFIRS reporting.  Reporting to NFIRS will qualify us for federal grant opportunities.  This also enables our officers to review run reports from their home or work computers.
